Organic Waste to Energy (OWE)
Inspiring change for new possibilities
We must dare to invent the future
Thomas Sankara
Inspired by her masters degree in Leadership and Sustainability and after successful completion, she went on the hunt to reinvent herself in a new industry sector (waste management and renewable energy). Her primary motivation was to promote the values of circularity.
It started out of mere interest about her personal carbon footprint and wanting to know what could be done to become better stewards of our planet. OWE was formed in late 2019, a few months before the covid pandemic. She successfully spearheaded operations, working to accelerate new business development, marketing strategy and key partnerships for renewable energy projects. She gained immense knowledge in biotechnology and the waste sector.
Organic Waste to Energy (OWE) provides sustainable waste management services with the added benefit of off- grid energy solutions. It seeks to make use of the 10.3 million tons of organic waste that end up in landfills each year and convert it into valuable resources.
OWE aims to build a circular economy business model that processes organic waste into “clean and affordable energy”, and to promote resource efficiency behaviours in the communities through education and awareness campaigns.
Vision
Mission
- To build a good foundation of incoming quality feedstock by facilitating the separation of organic waste at source. The quality feedstock is then used as a resource in the production of compost and /or biogas.
- Through our partnerships, develop infrastructure for waste valorisation processes that includes converting organic waste to compost and/or waste into “clean and affordable Energy”
- To create an awareness of the benefits of using the waste valorisation processes, to encourage societal behavioral change with regards to organic waste disposal.
